Apes Hill Barbados enters 2026 with global recognition and growing momentum

A year of international accolades reinforces Apes Hill’s position among the world’s leading golf and lifestyle communities

As Apes Hill Barbados looks ahead to 2026, it does so following a year of exceptional international recognition that has firmly reinforced its standing as one of the Caribbean’s most respected golf and lifestyle communities.

Throughout 2025, Apes Hill was recognised across multiple independent global rankings and awards, reflecting the quality of its golf offering, its setting and the wider experience enjoyed by members, residents and guests. Collectively, these honours underline what those who know Apes Hill already appreciate: this is a place on unmatched golf and laid-back living.

Among the year’s highlights, Apes Hill made its debut in Golf World’s Top 100 World Resorts, entering the influential ranking as the only Caribbean newcomer. The list assesses not only golf but the overall experience of a resort, recognising destinations that appeal as much to non-golfers as they do to dedicated players.

The championship course also continued to perform strongly on the international stage, earning a top ten ranking in Golfweek’s Top 50 Courses across Mexico, the Caribbean, the Atlantic Islands and Central America. In addition, Apes Hill was voted among the 10Best Caribbean Golf Courses for 2026 by USA Today readers, a recognition driven directly by golfer experience.

Family and fun golf at Apes Hill also gained global attention, with the Little Apes par-3 course named Best 9-Hole Course in the Caribbean at the 2025 World Golf Awards. Designed to be enjoyed by all ages and abilities, Little Apes has quickly become a favourite for families, members and those looking to sharpen their short game in a relaxed setting.

Further affirmation came from Golf Inc., which ranked Apes Hill #18 in its review of the best new golf course developments worldwide over the past decade, and from Links Golf, which named Barbados among the Top 10 International Golf Destinations for 2026.

Sunil Chatrani, Executive Chairman of Apes Hill Barbados, said: “These awards matter because they come from a broad and independent range of voices – golfers, editors and industry experts. Together, they recognise not just the quality of the course, but the experience of being here. For our members and owners, it is reassurance that Apes Hill is being measured, internationally, at the level we believe it deserves.”

Alongside this recognition, Apes Hill has seen continued growth in interest from prospective members and homeowners, particularly from North America, drawn by the resort’s combination of championship golf, understated luxury and a strong sense of community.

Competitive golf remains an important part of the Apes Hill calendar, with the Barbados Legends, hosted by Ian Woosnam, returning in April 2026 for a third consecutive year. The event continues to bring world-class competition to the island while reinforcing Apes Hill’s global reputation.

Set 1,000 feet above sea level in Barbados’ Central Highlands, Apes Hill offers a lifestyle shaped as much by calm and space as by sport. Days can move easily between morning yoga among the trees, a round on the championship course or Little Apes, time on the padel or tennis courts, or a relaxed afternoon by the sea at the beach club. It is this balance that continues to define the Apes Hill experience.

As 2026 begins, Apes Hill does so with quiet confidence, proud of the recognition earned and focused on delivering the same highest of standards to those who call it home, return year after year, or are just beginning to consider becoming part of the community.
